We are the Shooters Advocate, who support YOUR right to own guns!

Representing thousands of Gun Owners and Users across Australia, the Shooters Union is raising your voice and issues at every level of Australian Goverment. Actively lobbying against the unfair, unreasonable and unconstitutional vilification of gun owners; the members of the Shooters Union are working towards a co-operative system of effective gun control.

We realise that these are lofty goals, but with the help and support of the hundreds of thousands of firearm users in Queensland, we can and WILL change the political climate to be far more positive for firearm owners.

Here’s some facts:

• Long arm (rifle) registration has been shown over the past 40 years to be a waste of money and police resources. We are against Long Arm Registration, and instead propose a system similar to New Zealand which promotes a co-operative system.

The global political climate towards Guns and Gun owners is changing.

Evidence of this change, although not in Australia, can be seen in amongst global leaders such as the UK, where authorities have admitted that their Handgun ban HASN’T worked and MAY HAVE been excessive.

Or in the US where despite an average of 8 MILLION new guns being sold per year, the level of violent crime is actually DROPPING. And while the media would have us believe otherwise, their crime rate is now at its lowest since the early 1960’s.

Or in Canada where visionary politicians and it’s citizens, have elected a government who PROMISED to end gun registration and amend gun laws.

And these aren’t the only instances of the worldwide movement against repressive and dictatorial gun laws. Other countries such as Canada, Brazil and South Africa, have also experienced monumental changes to their gun legislation, and the outlook for further reform is also positive.

But you must realise one thing...

These changes didn’t happen on their own, and here in Australia, they won’t happen without YOUR support.

As a collective group, gun users and owners, have the power to affect POSITIVE change on legislation and the social dialogue. By joining together we can make a difference, stop discrimination and create a system of fair policies that support AND protect.
