It’s time to be proud of your involvement in shooting, in recent years many politicians and much of the media have attempted to discourage shooting and firearms ownership by open discrimination against us.

It’s time to stand up for our cultural traditions and say "enough". The simple fact is that repressive gun laws do not work. We believe that a more cooperative system (similar to that operating in New Zealand) would be far fairer and more effective than the current regime and so we will fight on your behalf to:

Change the current legislation to a more effective system

Improve the application of present regulations

We believe that there should be an end to long arm registration. In the late 80’s New Zealand actually dropped long arm registration after more than 40 years because study after study showed that it is a waste of both money and police resources.

We realize this will take time and effort, but with the help and support of the hundreds of thousands of firearm users in Qld, we can and will change the political climate to be far more positive for firearms owners.

Positive signs around the world:

• Canada elects new government promising to end registration and amend gun laws.
• Italy allows gun ownership for personal and property protection for the first time since
  WW2.
• Brazilian citizens reject a referendum trying to ban firearms ownership.
• UK authorities admit that the handgun ban there has not worked and "may have
  been excessive".
• South Africa amends its new firearms laws after finding many aspects unworkable.
• USA has passed hundreds of laws in more than 40 states easing legislative burdens on
  gun owners over the past 10 years. With an average 8 million new guns sold in the
  USA each year, their violent crime rate has dropped each year for 15 years. It’s now
  the lowest since the early 1960’s (so much for the more guns = more crime myth).

If all these countries can all improve conditions for firearm users and owners, so can we here in Qld. It’s time to make a difference and join a team that will work to protect your rights.
